Sarah and
Nick Armentrout own and operate Spring Creek Farm,
LLC. Spring Creek is a horse and organic hay farm
located in the town of Lyman, York County, Maine.
The farm offers horse boarding,
and training
and riding instruction with a focus on dressage
and eventing. Spring Creek Farm is also the home base
for The Equest
Therapeutic Riding Center, a 501(c)(3) horseback
riding program for children and adults with special
needs.
Spring Creek Farm is the combination of two abutting
family farms which share the end of a quiet country
lane in an active agricultural community. The Drown
Family farm was the first piece, purchased in the
spring of 1998. Sarah and Nick made this their home
and began by erecting their first timber frame stall
barn.
In years to follow, additional stalls and a run-in
were built to accommodate more horses. The second
piece, a portion of the Gray Family farm, was purchased
in the fall of 2003. Having been a dairy farm, the
Gray farm offered numerous barns and buildings to
support an overall expansion of boarding
and riding facilities.
Today, Spring Creek Farm comprises over 150 acres
of rolling fields, mixed wood forests, lowlands and
streams. Located just west of the Maine Turnpike,
30 minutes from either Portland, Maine or Portsmouth,
New Hampshire, Spring Creek Farm offers an idyllic
natural setting for those seeking a equine learning
community of exceptional quality. |
